If you’d like to learn more about womens heart health, and become empowered to improve your heart health with a holistic yet science based approach please join us in online this February for our women’s healthy heart workshop!

In this 2 hour workshop, we’ll explore:

  • how nutrition, lifestyle, movement, stress, sleep, environment and relationships impact on heart health
  • why and how women’s hearts are so different to mens
  • heart risk factors for women that you may not have been told about
  • how stress, breathing, and our nervous system can affect heart symptoms (and what you can do about it)
  • the role of different types of movement to reduce cardiovascular risk
  • simple evidence based ways to optimise your own heart health
  • how to reduce blood pressure or cholesterol naturally
  • what common symptoms, such as palpitations, breathing problems, or fatigue, can mean, and how to improve them
  • practical exercises to help breathing and movement

Who you’ll hear from:

Dr Marissa Kelaher is a specialist GP and Lifestyle Medicine doctor who co-founded and runs Your Lifestyle Medics, a telehealth lifestyle medicine clinic.

She enjoys helping people to optimise their heart and metabolic health with an evidence based, whole person approach.

Marissa works with local cardiologists (heart specialists) and other health providers to provide in depth care for patients with heart issues.

She also has a strong interest in personalised preventative health, women’s health, metabolic health, and longevity.

 

Caitlin Milne is a clinical exercise physiologist who specializes in creating tailored exercise and rehabilitation plans and support for people with heart issues among other areas.

She works alongside Marissa as well as the local cardiologists, and was also part of an integrative heart health program in Tauranga, via the Centre for Health before moving to Nelson.

She takes a whole person compassionate approach to wellbeing, to help people to gain back control, and believes knowledge is power when it comes to health!
