Menopause and Perimenopause consults
Are you a woman in your 30s, 40s or 50s and noticing your body (and hormones) changing?
Hot flushes and night sweats are what we typically associate with menopause, but symptoms such as brain fog, mood swings, palpitations, aches and pains, fatigue, poor sleep and stubborn weight gain can all also be linked to hormone changes - often many years before periods stop!
This transition can lead to many women feeling confused, dismissed, and completely thrown off track by symptoms they have never experienced before, especially when the things that used to work simply don’t anymore…
Fortunately there are SO many things that can help if you know how to take the right approach.
Our mission is to help you thrive as you enter this new phase of life (not just survive), so you can enjoy the things you love, and know you’re optimising your health for the future too.
We offer holistic in depth menopause consultations, where we take the time to listen to your symptoms and concerns, explore the role nutrition, sleep, stress, and other factors may be having, and take a comprehensive look at your current health, as well as your risk factors for future health issues.
Then we provide you with simple practical strategies, support, and coaching, to help you get your health back where you want it to be!
This can include prescribing safe effective MHT (HRT aka hormone replacement therapy) if desired or needed - we can also talk you through the pro’s and con’s of HRT, and help you make a decision that works for YOU.
Taking the time to address your well-being at this stage of life has widespread benefits - not only helping improve your symptoms to get your life back, but also giving you the knowledge and tools to optimize your quality of life and future well-being.

OUR APPROACH
We are both fully qualified specialist GP’s (FRNZCGP), who have additional training in lifestyle medicine, nutrition, women’s health, and integrative peri/menopause management.
Our passion is helping, educating, and supporting women to understand their changing bodies and hormones, as we know just how confusing and overwhelming it can be during this time of huge transition!
In our holistic peri/menopause appointments, we give you the time to explore your unique journey, as well as your goals for your health and future, to enable you to piece things back together and create a life you love. This can include nutrition advice, mind-body strategies, health coaching, targeted testing, supplements, or funded safe body-identical evidence based hormone replacement therapy (MHT/HRT) - the choice is yours!
Our qualifications include:
Dr Taisia - FRNZCGP; Post Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health (Otago); Fellow of The Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine; Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition
Dr Marissa - FRNZCGP; Foundational Training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM); Integrative Menopause Management (ACNEM); currently completing Fellowship with the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
